The Strong Story Lab welcomes currently enrolled Central Michigan University students to join the team. New team members are accepted at the start of each semester. Preference is given to students who have an interest in learning about how to support adults with communication disorders and who are interested in learning about research. CMU Honors Capstone projects are welcome.


Be interested and open to working on a team and learning about aphasia and other acquired communication disorders, qualitative research, and transcription.

Commit to a minimum of 1 semester of (2 semesters preferred).

Complete CITI and HIPAA training prior to beginning any work in lab.

Volunteer a minimum of 5 hours per week for transcription or other lab work (hours are flexible)

Attend 4-6 lab meetings per semester (meeting times determined at beginning of each semester)
